Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) plans to implement a peak season surcharge on its Northeast Asia to New Zealand route from September.
The company, which ships finished and semi-finished goods such as toys and garments, will apply a peak season surcharge of US$150 per TEU for all shipments from Korea, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong to New Zealand effective from September 20, on top of its rate offer, reported Dow Jones Newswires.
The container shipper didn’t disclose its existing freight rate on the route.
Have read the DHL’s new cargo services and OOCL’s extra charges. Realy thank you for starting this up. this website is something that is needed on the web, someone with a little originality. Please add some news for more transport companies and transport services. Useful job for bringing something new to the internet!
Great post. I used to be checking constantly this blog and I am inspired!
Very helpful info specially the remaining phase 🙂 Great information about shipping and transport companies.
Thanks and best of luck.
I don’t know if it’s just OOCL or if perhaps everyone else putting the surcharge on peak times. It appears as though some of the cargo companies are asking for surcharge when it is peak season. Can somebody else please comment and let me know if this is natural for them. This may be an issue with many exporters who regularly export or OOCL may put them out of this?
Thanks
